An overturned fuel tanker and several cars crashed near Exit 83 heading south on I-77 early Friday morning.

As of 6:30 a.m., a portion of I-77 is shut down following the multi-vehicle crash. Officials said the cleanup could take several hours since the fuel just be pumped into another tank before it can be moved. Officials said no major injuries were reported in this crash.

Detour: Take EXIT 83, a left on US-21, and then back on I-77 at MM 82.
