Director-producer Seth Swirsky — a bestselling author, singer-songwriter, and member of the band The Red Button — grew up in the 1960s, fell in love with the music of The Beatles, and followed the lead of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr to a future in the music business.

After Swirsky was invited in 2004 to perform at The Beatles' old Liverpool haunt, the Cavern Club, he began asking locals about The Beatles. To his surprise, these strangers shared their fondest recollections about the band; treasured stories he had never heard before, which Swirsky captured on his hand-held video camera. That prompted him to wonder how many more stories are out there that people have never heard about The Beatles stories, which prompted him to start the Beatles Stories project.

For the next eight years, Swirsky traveled around the world, filming an array of people – including many celebrities – who wanted to share their stories. Sometimes, the stories even found him. Swirsky discovered stories in unexpected places and even got The Beatles’ intimates to open up — neighbors, tour mates, business associates, and even former girlfriends — and tell stories you’ve never heard before. Featured celebrity storytellers include Beatles producer Sir George Martin; musicians Smokey Robinson, The Moody Blues' Justin Hayward, The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, Klaus Voormann, Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen, The Doors' Ray Manzarek, Art Garfunkel, The Monkees' Davy Jones, Badfinger's Joey Molland, Quarrymen member Rod Davis, Graham Nash, The Bangles' Susanna Hoffs, Denny Laine, Jackie DeShannon; actors Jon Voight, Henry Winkler, Sir Ben Kingsley and Victor Spinetti (a co-star in three Beatles movies); photographer Henry Diltz; Elvis Presley confidante Jerry Schilling; John Lennon's onetime girlfriend May Pang; and TV host Bob Eubanks.
